In reply to MaryAnn Inman. Hi, MaryAnn. This pattern wasn't designed for double knitting, but you could use just the outer loom of the Rotating Double Knit Loom to make this hat. You'd cast on all 52 pegs then follow the pattern as written. However, because the rotating loom gauge is only 1/2" the hat will come out smaller than using the recommended 5/8" gauge loom so it might not fit. There's really no way of knowing if the hat will be big enough without testing it and making a gauge swatch. I hope this helps!

I love this hat! I am wondering if it can be made on the rotating double knit loom. My grandson is in his first year at Mizzu, and I want to make it for him on the double loom to help keep him warm on the long walk to his classes. Thanks.

Hi Kristen. Love this hat and want to make it for grandson’s 1s year at Mizzu. Recently got rotating double loom and was wondering if I can make this hat on rotating loom. I thought the double knit would keep him warmer on the long walks to classes. Thanks for any help and ideas.
