HI, Mary! I did mine on a small gauge loom with #3 weight yarn. You will need to increase the cast on. Use a multiple of 6 then add 3 extra stitches. And yes, your instincts are correct about making sure you have the correct number of inches wide. I hope this helps!

Do I just increase the number of stitches by multiples of five? Six? And then just ensure it is so many inches (im assuming 12 wide inches in the first inch of stitches knitted) wide?
