Never mind…I kept working and as it was getting longer, the measurements looked more like what I was expecting!! I think it will work out just fine!

So glad there is finally a video for the knit version of this mermaid tail! I am a relatively new knitter, and I’ve just started this pattern. I am making the child size for my 4 yo daughter, but it sure looks awfully small on the needles (definitely doesn’t look like it will be 46″ in circumference, more like half!!). I cast on 88 stitches (I triple checked this!), will it sort of stretch as it gets longer & off the needles? I’m hoping the smallness is just an illusion! Thanks!
